Why Re-Grip?
Well, the grip is your only contact with the club so it musn't be overlooked. You should clean and brush your grips regularly to attempt to maintain the original grip and feel of your clubs.
However, if you play once or twice a week then you should look to replace your grips every 12 months or so, or even sooner if signs of wear and tear are showing. If you apply quite a lot of pressure when gripping the clubs you might need to replace even more often than that! Some golfers change their grips 3 to 4 times a year as they realise what a difference it can make to their game!
When a new grip comes onto the market you should also think carefully as to whether you could gain benefit by fitting them onto your set. After all, modern surfaces keep improving all the time and technology constantly improves giving you better adhesion and contact in your hands.
Grip size is very important too - too small would rotate the hands quickly giving a draw or hook spin. On the other hand to thick a grip would hinder or slow the club rotation giving a slice or fade spin.
Climate conditions can influence grip selection too. Some grips react better in wet and some react better in drier or more humid conditions.
Most grips, especially worn or part worn grips, react unfavourably in cold conditions.
Badly fitted frips can also cause alignment problems which can lead to a host of problems.
Which Grips Are Best for Me?
This is a difficult question to answer. Against each grip we have tried to give our personal view. One of the first things to take into account is the size - do you need standard, oversized or jumbo grips? If you have small hands then don't feel put off going for a ladies grip - no one will know except you and the improvement it will bring to your game will be considerable!
If you don't have a particular brand in mind then you can't go wrong with Golf Pride - they are the world's number one choice amongst tour players for a reason!
If you don't care about brand then take a good look at are own alternative choices - we have put them under the Budget Series heading. They are great value but we wouldn't suggest these grips unless they were really good - and as they are such good value you can always take a few and try them out - if they're not for you then you haven't lost a great deal at all.
Still not sure which ones to go for? Then try looking at our best sellers on the right hand side of this page - that will tell you what is the most popular grips by sales - always a good indicator of what's hot right now.

All the best,
